    Regarding Sam Fox's pop career. Never seen her albums in top twenty best album lists, but they made her lots of money, if that's what successull means. Personally my definition is a bit wider. If I'd sold half her albums but in 50 years people said I influenced them and I had a "classic" album under my belt I'd consider that more successful. Also, she did not write her hits, so it might be a kind of vicarious success, or success by proxy.

    I'll argue with the girl guides anyday, bunch of bloody hooligans! Seriously tho', on my first night at scouts not cubs I thought I'd joined the Hitler Youth by mistake. I think these groups are basically quasi-militaristic and are prepping you to follow orders and rules and to "fit in". I now find the concept of the Scouts and Guides highly questionable, like voluntary National Service for kids.
