Her name is Ruby. Or Natalie. Or Natasha. Or Nancy. Sadly, we may never really know her real name. She is featured on many websites today, including Body in Mind, From Russia With Love, MetArt, DOMAI, and Dominique18. She appears nude on them all. Yet none carry her real name nor extol her real virtues. She possesses and shares with us the kind of beauty that is worth looking at inspite of whatever crazy settings her photographers put her into. We look at her perfect body and her friendly face, and we want to know her, but we consider ourselves lucky merely to admire her and wonder. Yet, sadly, she has decided not to pose nude any more. We don't know why Ruby has gone. Or where. All we can say for sure is that in most of the world, including Ruby's native land, Russia, nude models cannot use their real names like they can in the West. In the early 1990s, superbeauties like Stephanie Seymour and Cindy Crawford made it possible for women to pose nude without being hooted and jeered out of their careers and their minds. In fact, they made it downright respectable. In much of the world, however, posing nude is still frowned upon in a primitive, deeply disturbing way. It is like a flashback to the days before supermodels and female sexual empowerment. Our only hope is that you and we at Body in Mind can somehow uplift the world's views on female beauty and the beautiful women who take their clothes off and display their bodies for our enjoyment and inspiration. Maybe then women like Ruby will not disappear. Until then, we will be nursing a severe case of the Ruby Blues around here.
