I think I'm going to have to move to England. Not only are their beauty contests nude, but they're televised as well! After several heats, a winner of the National Miss Nude contest has been chosen. Her name is Jenine-May and you can see her here at Simply Gorgeous. I say!

1994 Playmate Elisa Bridges is dead at 28

Although the official cause has yet to be released, the family of Playmate Elisa Bridges is saying her death was by natural causes.

Mac and Bumble are featuring a strip tease by Elisa on their site today. Perhaps as a memorial. Hers is definitely a beauty worth remembering. You can see it here.

Women may now go completely nude in public in Maine

And I thought it was cool when public toplessness was legalized in my home town! Here's the story: A couple of young ladies in Maine decided to go jogging in the nude, got arrested and defended themselves in court, and won. You can read the whole story here. I've always loved the movie My Fair Lady, in which Audrey Hepburn proves a woman can have beauty and brains. Now it seems that beauty and brains can be seen most plainly in Maine.

Inspired by nudity in fashion shows

All the nudity in this year's winter fashion shows - as well as the lack of nudity in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show a couple months ago - has inspired me to finish the drawing on this page (above) which I started way back in 1996! Little did I know then that I was in fact a fashion designer ahead of my time. ;o)

Stephanie Seymour acts ... good!

Supermodel Stephanie Seymour has been like a 2nd sun in my life, rising not every day, but at steady intervals, then gently setting again, so subtly that I don't notice she's gone, not until she dawns breathtakingly again. It's been this way since I first saw a small photo of her in a flowery one-piece bathing suit some 12 or 13 years ago. It's not a great or famous photo, but when I discovered it in the fashion magazine I was reading, it was like a clear, bright light shone out from that little photo and made my purpose in life more clear - understanding the power of female beauty.

It happened again a couple years later when I braved the purchase of my first copy of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition looking for photos of Elle Macpherson. That same sunny glow fell over me when I stumbled upon photos of Stephanie instead, taken by the brilliant photographer french Marc Hispard. Then came her bold rise in Victoria's Secret, and her naked in the light of Playboy. Now, to my great delight, she's taken up acting.

I'd always assumed she couldn't act because she'd never done it. But last night I stumbled upon her in an episode of Law and Order: Criminal Intent and she was perfect. Perfect. I am glad to report that she can really act.

Leanne tells me she also plays Helen Frankenthaler in Ed Harris's work of love, Pollock about artist Jackson Pollock, famous for dripping paint on huge canvasses in the 50's and 60's. Apparently, Jennifer Connelly is also in this film. I've been avoiding it, but I think I'll have to see it now. Jennifer Connelly has long been our favourite actress.

Stephanie might be our new one.

I've said it a million times. Beauty haters who attack pornography are really out to get rid of nudity; those who attack nudity are really after beauty; and those after beauty are really out to destroy values, including Justice. Even beauty haters in the Department of Justice itself.

At the White House there is a statue of Justice nicknamed Minnie Lou, which exposes one breast in typical neo-classical sculpture style, under which sits a podium that all Attorneys General stand behind when giving press conferences. But now John Ashcroft has complained because he saw a photo of himself with "an exposed breast" floating above his head" and so the White House has ordered floor to ceiling blue drapes - costing $8600 - to cover the statue up. I never thought I'd be sending you to their site but here's a very intelligent piece on the meeting of Playboy and Porn that I found there yesterday. This is a very welcome addition to their site. We adore Pam Anderson. When she falls in love she falls all the way. It seems there's nothing sexy she won't do for the man she loves: porn films, tattoos, and now she hopes to strip on stage at her boyfriend Kid Rock's rock concerts. Her taste in men might be lacking, but her sexiest of hearts is always in the right place. I've been wondering lately if any woman will ever achieve a nationwide audience for simply taking off her clothes. If anyone can do it, Pammy can.
