Beauty is the antidote to horror

From a Muslim fan of Body in Mind: "In the late 70s my father was in Iran on a work-related assignment and came upon what seemed to be a bikini march. He never told me what the women who participated were protesting, but the horrendous fate of those women should never be forgotten. The protest probably didn't last for long, for the authorities came into action quickly. The women were shot and their bodies were collected shortly by a bulldozer and dumped somewhere. What's really strange about that story is that there was a sense of pride in my father's voice while telling this horrible story. It seems that he was glad because those women who dared to show some of their beauty to support a political cause met this horrible end." If you're ever feeling guilty about admiring the loveliness of Nadya or any other beauty on earth, remember that it's not admiration but hatred of women that is shameful and destructive to women.
